What is restaurant stock management software?
Restaurant stock management software calculates what to order to last until the next delivery, without running out or overstocking. Enskel starts from forecast sales and recipe cards to get each ingredient’s requirement, matches it against available stock and confirmed deliveries, then calculates the quantity to order, site by site.
Are requirements calculated by ingredient?
Yes: forecast sales × quantity per portion, dish by dish, then added up for each ingredient. Grams, litres and items are first converted into the same unit. Yield is entered product by product, because a peeled or trimmed product weighs less than the product as bought. Forecast quantities come from Forecasting, portion weights from Recipe costing.
Does Enskel place supplier orders?
No: Enskel calculates what to order, your manager confirms then places the order. The calculation matches requirements against usable stock and confirmed deliveries, and takes the supplier’s pack sizes into account. When an ingredient is at risk of running out before the service, Enskel flags it. The guide details how to calculate the quantity to order.
What do we need to get started?
Your sales, your recipe cards and an initial stock count. Sales come from your POS (Popina is already connected); the recipe cards give the portion weights; the stock count sets the starting stock. For each product bought, you also need its unit, pack size and purchase price.
Is stock linked to food cost?
Yes. Stock passes purchase prices to Recipe costing, which derives the food cost per portion from them. It also gives purchases and stock counts to Profitability, which compares theoretical and actual food cost, site by site. There, the gap is broken down by ingredient: portions, waste, purchase prices or stock count, the causes are checked without being assumed.
Can we track several sites?
Yes: each site prepares its orders from its own stock and its own forecast; head office sees everyone’s requirements. Deliveries received, stock counts and transfers are part of the stock data tracked. The same recipe card can serve the whole group, costed at each site’s purchase prices.
Can we use Stock without Forecasting?
Yes. In the Operations package, Stock gives you your stock and ordering tools. With the Forecasting package, they are automated and optimised by AI: orders are calculated from the sales forecast. Both packages and their price per site per month are set out on the Pricing page.
