Institutional catering software: Tomorrow’s meals, counted today.

Staff restaurants, school canteens, hospitals and care homes: Enskel forecasts each site’s meals from sales, registrations, bookings or headcounts, then derives purchasing, central kitchen production and the team rota from it.

The catering manager’s question

The forecast starts from your data.

In a staff restaurant, the POS sales; in a canteen or a healthcare facility, registrations, bookings or headcounts. Connecting this data is assessed with you before the pilot, and your team keeps the decision.

04 / THE CENTRAL KITCHEN

Each site sees its meals.

The central kitchen sees what it must produce.

Each site supplied has its forecast; the central kitchen sees the total to produce for each, and the ingredients to order. The manager compares the food cost of the sites, each against its own theoretical cost.

What is institutional catering software?

Institutional catering software helps you forecast how many meals to serve at each site, buy and produce accordingly, and track the cost of each portion. Enskel links these steps: the meal forecast feeds ordering, central kitchen production and the rota, and margins compare the theoretical food cost with the actual one, site by site.

How does Enskel forecast meals without a POS?

From the data you have: registrations, bookings or headcounts, and the history of meals served. In a staff restaurant that takes payments, the forecast starts from the POS sales, as for a restaurant. Connecting your data is assessed with you before the pilot; each forecast shows its margin of error, and your team keeps the decision.

Does Enskel handle a central kitchen and its satellite sites?

Yes. Each site supplied has its meal forecast; the central kitchen sees the total to produce for each and the ingredients to order. Recipe cards can be shared, costed at each site’s purchase prices. Managing several sites is detailed on the multi-site page.

For which establishments?

Staff and administration restaurants, school catering from nursery to university, and healthcare and social care facilities: hospitals, clinics, care homes. The modules are the same; only the forecast source changes, sales, registrations or headcounts.

Is the cost of each meal tracked?

Yes. Recipe cards give the food cost of each portion, to the gram, at the site’s purchase prices. Margins compare this theoretical cost with the actual one, from purchases and stock counts, site by site.

What about HACCP checks?

The HACCP checks module records temperatures, cleaning and traceability, entered on a tablet, with each site’s history. It helps track checks without guaranteeing compliance, and is not part of the pilot offer.

How much does Enskel cost for institutional catering?

Each brick has its own price, excl. VAT, per site per month: Forecast €100, Operations €35, HACCP €15. One pilot site is free for three months, excluding HACCP. Details are on the Pricing page.
